About Bluetooth
The short range 2.4 gigahertz radio standard begun at Ericsson in 1989 and formalized by the Bluetooth Special Interest Group, launched in 1998. Named for the tenth century Danish king Harald Bluetooth, it ships in billions of devices yearly, from earbuds to cars, and its Low Energy mode enabled wearables and tracking tags.
