PCI Express
About PCI Express
The point to point interconnect PCI-SIG introduced in 2003, replacing shared parallel PCI and AGP slots. Data flows over scalable lanes, each generation doubling transfer rate, from 2.5 gigatransfers per second in 1.0 to 64 in PCIe 6.0. It connects graphics cards, SSDs, network cards and, through M.2 slots, most modern storage.
