About QR Code
Quick Response codes were invented in 1994 by Masahiro Hara at Denso Wave to track car parts, then released essentially royalty free. Standardized as ISO/IEC 18004, the square matrix carries up to several thousand characters with strong error correction. Smartphones turned the pattern into a universal bridge from physical to digital.
