About IEC 60309
International Electrotechnical Commission standard for industrial power plugs and sockets, rooted in the CEE 17 series of the 1960s. Connectors are color coded by voltage, blue for 200 to 250 volts and red for 380 to 480 volts, and keyed by the clock position of the earth pin. They power stages, campsites and marinas worldwide.
