MIDI 1.0
About MIDI 1.0
Musical Instrument Digital Interface, agreed in 1983 through a proposal by Dave Smith and Ikutaro Kakehashi, lets synthesizers, computers and controllers exchange note events over a 5 pin cable at 31,250 bits per second. Its creators received a Technical Grammy in 2013, and forty years on every studio still runs on it.
