MIDI 2.0
About MIDI 2.0
The first major MIDI upgrade since 1983, announced in January 2020 by the MIDI Association. Universal MIDI Packets carry 32 bit resolution and per note controllers, and capability exchange lets instruments negotiate automatically. It remains backward compatible with the MIDI 1.0 world.
