SQL
About SQL
ISO/IEC 9075 standardizes the database query language developed at IBM by Donald Chamberlin and Raymond Boyce in the 1970s as SEQUEL for the System R project. SQL became an ANSI standard in 1986 and an ISO standard in 1987, and every major relational database implements it. SQL:2023 added a JSON data type and property graph queries.
