DICOM
About DICOM
Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine, developed by the American College of Radiology and the National Electrical Manufacturers Association, governs the storage and exchange of medical images. The 1993 version 3.0 gave it its current name, and it is also published as ISO 12052. Virtually every radiology system speaks it.
